For some reason, I'm a bit off today. I got up at 5:30 to work out early this morning, and I should have just skipped it. My back was still sore, and I was feeling very sluggish. I have to remember that I can't go from zero to hero in one week. I've been working out a lot lately, and my body needs time to rest. I forgot that. Now I remember.
I had an extremely lame workout. My knee started bothering me early on the treadmill this morning, so I only did 11 minutes, and then I just did 9 minutes on the bike after that because I just felt sore. So I got up at 5:30 to do 20 minutes of half hearted cardio - hardly worth it.
I was up a little bit of weight today from the salt, I'm sure, so overall I'm just feeling blah, and I'd like to fast forward to tomorrow. I have lots of meetings today, a very large backlog of work from being out sick, a ton of homework, and a work meeting tonight that won't end until around 9PM. Normally, I wouldn't care about any of those things, but because I'm feeling tired and bloated and achy, it just adds to the overall feeling of misery that I have today.
I need to remember that my physical health is connected to every other area of my health and well being. That is why proper rest, both slumber and rest from exercising, is important, as is eating healthy foods, getting in lots of water, and getting the body into tip top shape. Life has a tendency to weigh us down, but the choices we make can lighten the load.

I got up early yesterday, had a 20 minute work out and I felt great about it... you should too!
And I'm glad you actually listened to your body and stopped...
Don't keep pushing or you'll get sick again.
Yes you need to exercise, just make sure you do it the smart way.
