Paying the toll

When on a diet, the price for over eating is extra exercise.  You must pay the toll if you're going down that road and you want to reach your destination.

For some reason, I was STARVING when I got home from work today - I don't know if it was the 10 mile bike ride, or the fact that I had eaten really light today (which isn't new), but I was sooo hungry.  By the time dinner was ready, I ate way too much.  Also, I don't always make the best choices when I'm that hungry, so I used way too much salt on my food.

As a result, I decided I needed to work out again to make up for it.  I have a work obligation tomorrow night, and physical therapy at 8AM tomorrow morning, so I knew I would have to work out very early tomorrow AM before the day gets started.  Since my back was sore this morning from my workout last night, I didn't want the same thing to happen again, so I decided to do Pilates at home.

My sister told me about an Amazon.com 4 pack sale on exercise tapes a few weeks back, and I had ordered 4 Pilates videos.  I haven't done Pilates much before, but the tape I did tonight seemed to be fairly easy.  I could feel my muscles working out, but for some reason, it all just came very natural to me.  The video showed a beginner, intermediate and advanced version of each exercise.  I did about a third of each, depending upon the exercise, and I thought it was odd that I could do the advanced exercise in many cases.  Maybe it was a really easy video.

Either way, I got another 30 minute work out in tonight, and I'm hoping that offset the overeating I did at dinner.  I mean, I didn't go over 1000 calories today, so it's not like I did anything bad, but I had a 500 calorie dinner which is more than I like to eat.

Next time I come home that hungry, I need to reach for a salad or something instead of waiting until dinner and overeating.

BUT, at least I paid the toll.  :)
