Physical Therapy

I don't think I've ever been to physical therapy, although it has been prescribed to me many times throughout my adult life.  When I was young, I hurt my back badly in a car accident, and I needed physical therapy badly.  I was really bad about following up on medical obligations back then, so I never went.  To this day, I have back problems from time to time, and it's easy for me to re-injure it.  When I was heavier, my back pain was debilitating.  I'm very thankful that's no longer the case, but I know if I had been to physical therapy when I was younger, I'd be in even better shape with my back.

I have injured my knees many times, especially the left knee, and I am finally going to physical therapy.  I have an appointment scheduled first thing for Wednesday morning.  I know it will be hard work to get my knee in good shape again, but it is so worth it.  I don't want to have a knee replacement before I'm 40!

I want my body to work with me.  Since I've been losing weight, I've been struggling with injuries and illness, and both get in the way of my weight loss.  I'm going to do all I can to give myself as few excuses as possible so that I can work out hard and often.  I am determined to lose the rest of my weight, as well as the weight I regained.

Sometimes it's easy to let things slide, or postpone what we need to do for days and weeks and months and years, but I'm going to continue to try to be better about that.  If I make my health and wellness a top priority, I will have no reason to postpone giving myself the care, rest, nutrition, and exercise I need to be in top physical condition.
